Marie Curie Provision of Education to domiciliary care providers
The Marie Curie ECHO network is designed to upskill independent domiciliary care staff to enable them to competently adopt palliative and end of life care. By using video conferencing facility the network will address some of the issues faced by the independent sector with regards to staff attrition rates and inability to release staff to attend training.
It will increase participants’ knowledge, skills and change attitudes with regards to the 5 key domains in palliative care:
- Overarching Values and Knowledge
- Communication Skills
- Assessment and Care Planning
- Symptom management, maintaining comfort and wellbeing
- Advance care planning.
