Community Palliative Care Out of Hours Nursing Service

Life & Time, founded in 2017 by Dr. Henry McLaughlin, is a community-based charity providing responsive on call  ‘end-of-life’ care services in patients’ homes during the hours of 10 PM to 8 AM. Life and Time nursing agency offers a single point of contact for Out of Hours support and symptom control for patients referred by their GP, generating care reports for the District Nurse and GP.

The organisation operates across South Down in regions: Warrenpoint, Burren, Rostrevor, Rathfriland, Hilltown, and Mayobridge, and is expanding into the greater Mourne area.

It is entirely funded by donations from the communities it serves and is regulated  by the Regulation  Quality Improvement Authority (RQIA) in Northern Ireland.

Life & Time also supports Education and Practice initiatives in Palliative care, End of Life Care and Advance Care Planning and have held multiple Knowledge/Training sessions and information evenings aimed at both Practitioners and the general public.
