Project ECHO - Global Movement Launches Film in Northern Ireland

“All Teach, All Learn”

The Long Gallery, Parliament Buildings, Belfast was the chosen location to premiere a documentary demonstrating how an innovative global methodology (Project ECHO) has supported the co-creation of new health and social care service delivery models in Northern Ireland.  ECHO methodology aims to support patient’s on waiting lists by equipping health and care professionals with specialist knowledge.

Professor Sir Michael McBride welcomed everyone, commending and paying tribute to the thousands of staff who have participated in the ECHO communities of practice across the region.  Acknowledging that the Strategic Planning and Performance Group (SPPG), Department of Health, were instrumental in bringing the methodology to Northern Ireland.

The film demonstrates the value of ECHO methodology world-wide, and how ECHO has become an important Northern Ireland good news health story which has been amplified across the UK and Ireland.

Professor Max Watson, Programme Director – Project ECHO, emphasised that the film is an opportunity to illustrate and showcase how the Project ECHO Model supports the empowerment of  healthcare professionals to improve patient/client outcomes.
