Neighbourhood District Nursing

This ECHO network returns for a third year, with the purpose of continuing to support district nursing teams to implement the NDN model within the primary care Multi-Disciplinary Team areas.

Neighbourhood District Nursing is a new model that was introduced in five test areas across NI, in the summer of 2019.  With the enhancement to District Nursing within the Primary Care Multi-Disciplinary Team roll out sites, the plan is to spread and scale the NDN model out to these areas.  The ECHO Model was successfully implement within a previous District Nursing ECHO Network, so it was inevitable that the same model would be the optimum choice.  Network members will share and learn from staff and coaches from the test sites and continue to apply QI methodology.

The Hub team consist of representatives from all five Health and Social Care Trusts and the Public Health Agency.  Spokes will be the HSC Trusts District Nursing Services from the Primary Care MDT’s across Northern Ireland.

The group meet on a monthly basis – Tuesday’s

Network Lead:  Deirdre Cunningham, PHA Nurse Consultant
