Nursing Homes Belfast Trust

This ECHO Network is led by the Care Home Nursing Support Team (CHNST) in BHSCT. The aim of the team is to facilitate Nursing Home staff to become independent in the clinical care of their residents, as far as practicably possible. Thus improving safety, quality and standards within Nursing Homes, reducing unnecessary unscheduled admissions to hospital and reducing use of Trust services, eg Out of Hours, District Nursing.

Their ECHO programme will enhance the ongoing rolling training programme provided to Nursing Home staff within the BHSC Trust area. The ECHO Model will enable the sharing of knowledge and best practice between participants as well as providing peer support to all. As the programme is delivered virtually via zoom the aim is to increase engagement with nursing home staff, and as sessions are recorded staff will be able to access anytime.

This group meet on a monthly basis – Tuesday’s

Network Lead: Rachel Millar, Care Home Nursing Support Team, BHSCT
