Community Development Practitioners Forum

The purpose of the Community Development Practitioners’ Forum is to create an online community of practice for anyone using and promoting community development approaches to address health inequalities across Northern Ireland. It will be a learning space to network virtually and share ideas and resources with others about how they are tackling inequalities, promoting participation, and improving health and wellbeing through community-led action. Together, Forum members will decide what the focus of the peer-to-peer learning sessions will be, using their knowledge and experience to identify the most relevant topics, and connect with others across different sectors and disciplines to:

  •  Share best practice and learn from each other’s experience;
  •  Discuss how people apply community development principles and values to address health inequalities through community-led change; and Explore opportunities to use evidence and build partnerships.

Community Development and Health Network will lead on the coordination of the Community Development Practitioner’s Forum, with oversight from Public Health Agency and the Strengthening Communities for Health Steering Group.
